Your toes can naturally become more curly with age, this would be fine if we all lived in a country where you could wear flip flops or go bare foot all year round. Unfortunately that can be a bit tricky in the UK. Although your toes are small they can cause considerable problems and inconvenience. The good news is that in the early stages simple interventions such as footwear modification (such as wide toe boxed shoes or Hanwag Bunion shoes and boots), or silicone toe sleeves (available at Amazon) are a useful starting point.
If these simple 'at home' measures do not give you the relief you need, sometimes surgery to straighten the toe is required. The deformed joint is corrected and a wire or tiny screw is inserted to hold the position.
