A knee arthroscopy, also known as keyhole surgery, can diagnose and treat a number of problems relating to the knee joint. The operation takes twenty to thirty minutes and leaves you with two tiny scars on either side of your knee.

Pictures (or a video if you wish) are taken of everything that is seen and done inside your knee, so that you can more fully understand what the problems were. Read more about knee arthroscopy here at Circle Health Group.

  • An MRI scan is required before surgery, which Mr Parker will arrange for you

  • Surgery is performed as a day case under general anaesthetic

  • If the meniscus is repaired you may require a brace for 3 weeks

  • You will be fit to return to work/drive between 10-14 days post surgery, and should expect to be back to full fitness between 4-6 weeks post surgery

  • You will require 3-4 sessions of physiotherapy after having your surgery

  • You will require a follow-up consultation 6 weeks after having your surgery

  • If you have private medical insurance, the procedure code you will need to provide to your insurance company is W8500

Please always remember to ask Mr Parker at your consultation reference any specific recovery queries relating to your job or lifestyle.
